DriveTrend is easy to use and can save you money with a 10% insurance discount while promoting safer driving and providing trip data. However, many reviews report reliability and data-accuracy problems: map and speed data are often wrong, hard braking is over-counted, the app drains battery, trips can be auto-assigned to the wrong person, and the app can crash or fail to log activity—undermining trust in its benefits.

Recent reviews

You get dinged on phone usage even when your a passenger and make sure to let the app know you weren’t driving. It also doesn’t care if you’re only using maps. So regardless of whether you’re driving, you will get dinged on phone usage if your phone is on for any reason in the car.

I just started having to use this app, and it is NOT accurately tracking my speed. Having to use an app to track my driving is so Big Brother anyway, and I hate this whole idea. Two stars only because routes seem accurate and braking seems accurate, but speed is NOT accurate.
