Why was I suddenly charged for a yearly subscription after 2 weeks of using the basic version of the app ?

I had a good experience with SoloLearn years ago picking up SQL and brushing up on Python. I needed to learn C++ so I came back, figuring if it was still as good I would subscribe and try to do daily lessons. First lesson was fine. Dragging and dropping the bits of code doesn't work, but I can still tap them. I can live with that. I go to do the second one, and there is just a grey screen. No lesson whatsoever. So, I guess that was a bust.
