PeakVisor is praised for strong AR peak identification, reliable horizon accuracy, and powerful 3D mapping with mountain labeling, plus useful route planning and GPX import. However, multiple reviews note drawbacks: a steep price/subscription model, dependence on pre-downloaded offline maps, a restrictive free-use limit, and some cross-device reliability issues (Mac, Apple Watch). If you can tolerate the cost and plan around offline maps, it’s a highly capable hiking/navigation app.
