User Reviews

Users praise SQLPro for speed, ease of use, a robust feature set, and good developer support across iOS/macOS. However, many report pricing and licensing frustrations, paywalls for results, and shifting subscription models. Reliability and performance concerns also recur, with crashes and lag on large databases or certain actions. Data handling and privacy questions (sign-in data, iCloud persistence) add to adoption concerns. Overall, strong capability and value are offset by pricing, reliability, and data-management issues.
Pros
  • Fast, native iOS experience with a responsive UI
  • Strong developer support and quick issue resolution
  • Rich feature set for SQL tasks (execute procedures, export results) with cross-platform capability
  • Perceived good value for money for basic usage (one free connection, fair pricing)
  • Cross-platform availability across iPad, iPhone, and macOS, enabling work on the go
Cons
  • Pricing/licensing model is confusing or changing, with paywalls and locked results
  • Stability issues: crashes during DB name input, test connection, or results editing
  • Performance problems with large databases and autocomplete lag
  • Data privacy/persistence concerns (sign-up requirements, iCloud data handling, persistence after deletion)

Can’t use the newest version. Autocomplete does not work, app freezes, keyboard disappears, app resets when navigating to another app and returning to this app, causing the user to lose everything they were working on.

I’ve been trying out the iPad/iPhone version and love how fast it is. I can remote into my machine at work and run SSMS but this is much easier to see and work with as a native app. And of course it isn’t Microsoft that bothered to make it. I had an issue with saved servers disappearing and sent Kyle an email with a screen recording and he responded and fixed the issue THE SAME DAY. Good luck doing that with corporate support systems. Give it a try!
