User Reviews

AutoSleep provides rich sleep metrics and easy-to-interpret trends, with good Apple Watch and HealthKit integration and a one-time purchase. However, recurring reviews flag accuracy issues in sleep timing and data logging, including drift after updates, which can undermine confidence in sleep scores.
Pros
  • Detailed, comprehensive sleep data and insights (awake times, deep sleep, trends).
  • Easy to understand readings and clear trends; user-friendly presentation.
  • Automatic tracking without needing to enable sleep mode, making it easy to monitor trends automatically.
  • Works with Apple Watch and Apple HealthKit, letting sleep data flow into Health apps.
  • One-time purchase rather than a recurring subscription.
Cons
  • Sleep tracking accuracy and timing can be inconsistent, with sleep start/end and sleep duration mislogged affecting scores.
  • Tracking performance can drift over time and after OS updates, causing continued accuracy problems.

The interface is incredibly overloaded and confusing. The only feature I actually wanted this app for was the smart alarm, but it’s a nightmare to configure. You have to activate it directly on the watch every time, which is terribly inconvenient. On top of that, you can’t even set up a simple alarm schedule. If there is somehow a way to do it, the app makes it completely unintuitive and impossible to figure out. I downloaded it, got frustrated, and will never use it again.

I love this app. You can really dig down into moment by moment data if you combine it with an Apple Watch. It really is a fantastic app, and offers exponentially more info that apple’s sleep data screen. I highly recommend the three pack of Auto Sleep, Auto Wake, and HeartWatch. All three are excellent, work together, and you’ll get a discounted price. If you’re interested in the quality of your sleep and readiness for training intensity, these are the tools. All that well deserved praise aside, there are occasional glitches, which persist, like missing waking HRV. This can be solved by doing the “breathe” program in apple’s mindfulness app a couple of mornings on waking. I’m not sure of the whys or hows of that, but you’ll start getting your waking HRV again, even when you don’t use breathe on waking.

It’s really amazing! Love that you are actually a privacy first app but also. Have you considered doing sleep research? Only for people who would opt in. Or something? I just think there is so much to discover. About sleep. Thx regardless. 🥰
