I booked a ride and the driver accepted the trip, but when I called to confirm where I should wait for him, he told me he was too far away and could not come to pick me up. To make matters worse, when I called him, he told me he did not speak English, which made an already frustrating situation even more difficult. My biggest issue, however, was how the company handled the situation afterward. The service was not provided because their driver accepted a ride he was unable to complete, yet the company refused to refund the money to my credit card. Instead, they only offered credit to my account. I do not live in the United States. Fortunately, I was able to use the credit for my return trip, and that ride went smoothly. But what would have happened if this had occurred on my final ride to the airport before flying home? When exactly would I have been able to use that credit? If the ride had been cancelled because of circumstances beyond their control, I could understand. But this was not a case of force majeure. Their driver accepted the ride and then simply told me he was too far away to come. When a company fails to provide a service due to an issue on their side, customers should have the option to receive a refund to their original payment method rather than being forced to accept account credit. Unfortunately, this experience also made me question how reliable the service is. When you book transportation—especially when traveling—you need to know that the driver who accepts your ride will actually show up. After this experience, I would not feel comfortable relying on this service when timing really matters.
