Xylem Inc. has created the AqWifi mobile app as a dedicated resource to provide remote monitoring of residential ground water pumps and variable frequency drive, specifically the Aquavar SOLO2. This app will provide live and historic data of the installed system. Some of the key highlights of this app include:

· Pump and motor status

· System parameters such as motor speed, motor current draw and input voltage.

· Fault notification and history

· Trends of critical parameters to show system performance

The online functionality will connect to the AqWifi cloud in order to process live data from anywhere. The offline functionality will allow the user to check device data locally.

...but it has some features I’d like to see implemented like: ability stop the well pump if you can see the well is low (high RPM/frequency, low current). I have a vineyard, and if the well is struggling, it would be nice to have a “stop/rest” switch instead of waiting for a dry well event in order to get a restart. Since our vineyard is way down hill (so far down that I don’t need a siphon break) the remaining water in the pipe creates a vacuum and the well won’t restart because the pressure is not zero. So I have to travel all the way up to the wellhouse to reset. Also, would be nice to have more granular data graphs. Overall, it’s a breakthrough for well operations.
