User Reviews

Overall, users find OxiPur a useful, centralized resource for gout and kidney-stone diet information and for tracking oxalates and purines, with pro tiers offering deeper data. However, major recurring complaints include that key content is paywalled and pricing is unclear or problematic; data quality and coverage are inconsistent (oxalate values sometimes conflict with established references; many foods missing); the app can be hard to navigate and has limited unit options (grams/ounces only, mg often unavailable). Some report paying without value, others praise the data when using Pro features.
Pros
  • Centralized, one-stop source for gout and kidney stone information, saving time researching the web.
  • Useful data and a robust database for tracking oxalate and purine intake, aiding diet management.
  • Pro tiers unlock detailed, food-specific impact data for gout and kidney stones; many users find it worth paying.
  • Convenient and handy reference that users feel can be used on the go.
  • Some users report developers are responsive and supportive.
Cons
  • Content behind a subscription; pro features require payment; pricing not always transparent; several users report unauthorized charges.
  • Data accuracy and coverage issues: oxalate data can conflict with established references (e.g., Harvard study) and many common foods are missing.
  • Usability and navigation problems: app can be hard to use and not very intuitive; limited pre-entered meals.
  • Unit and measurement limitations: only grams and ounces are shown; mg values and other serving units are often unavailable.
  • Some users feel the marketing is misleading about free features and report value not delivered after paying.

This is a paid subscription if you want to use the oxalates feature. Other than that, it’s just a food diary. I cannot say that I would recommend this App. Please do your own research as you will get better results.

I was excited to use the app but all the items are in “grams”. This is a huge amount. I’ve been told by various doctors you measure by milligrams and that for a low Oxalate diet that would be only 50-60mg per day.

This app is stealing money. You get the free version and then they take money from your account without authorization!!!
