User Reviews

Summary: User reviews show a split view: strong appeal due to IBD's research and swing ideas, with potential profitability for disciplined traders. However, most feedback highlights reliability and usability problems: late alerts, frequent logouts, bugs, noisy signals, and perceived poor value given underperformance vs the S&P 500. The concept has merit, but execution needs significant improvement.
Pros
  • Quality research and trading insights from IBD that can inform swing decisions.
  • Swing ideas and alerts that help generate trading ideas.
  • With proper risk management, some users find it can be a money-maker (a passive side gig).
Cons
  • Alerts/notifications are often delayed, making timely entry difficult.
  • Frequent sign-outs/log-in problems and friction (stay-logged-in issues, CAPTCHA-like verification).
  • Persistent bugs and instability (blank screens, data not loading, slow refresh, chart glitches).
  • Too many emails/push notifications with incomplete detail (missing stock symbols) leading to signal noise.
  • Perceived poor value due to underperformance versus the S&P 500 and the subscription price.

Day 1 of subscription and I log into the dashboard to see the YTD performance of Swing Trader is 2% vs 14% (SP500). Perhaps IBD should stick to position trading. What a waste of $50.

way too many emails and push notifications that say "a new position was added in a stock." Always list the symbol in all alerts please!
