User Reviews

Genius Jamtracks is praised for its powerful, flexible practice tools, stellar sound, and built-in Real Book tunes, which inspire improvisation and learning. However, multiple reviews cite crashes, lack of export/editing features, forced account/login, and occasional playback issues as recurring problems. Overall it’s seen as a game-changing concept that shines in theory and sound but suffers from stability and workflow gaps.
Pros
  • Powerful practice tool with adjustable rhythmic and harmonic complexity, including polyrhythms.
  • High-quality, natural-sounding performances; many users find the sound better than iReal Pro.
  • Built-in Real Book tunes and practice sequences for immediate use.
  • Inspires improvisation and writing; helps with developing chops.
  • Responsive support and helpful responses from the developers.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and reliability issues across updates.
  • No export options (no MIDI or audio export; data cannot be easily transferred).
  • Limited editing/creation capabilities (can't add new songs, edit chord changes, rename songs; restricted searching features).
  • Forced account/login after updates (privacy concerns and login hassles).
  • Some songs fail to play or audio playback is inconsistent after updates.

Was good now I just deleted it, back to IReal Pro no login hassles required.

Several songs won’t play audio since this update. I thought it was just when I searched for a song but I’ve discovered that there are just random songs that no longer work.

Correspondence from developer promises: NO SUBSCRIPTION coming after recent update. Seems shortsighted not to have include this in the updated App Store info. FYI, you can no longer access app until you give them your email and create an account. Update looks like a mostly polished GUI song browsing update, I’m not inherently seeing the reason for the necessary account creation. Will wait and see.
