Distill Web Monitor

Get instant alerts for changes

Features & Capabilities

Distill Web Monitor is a browser extension that checks webpages in the cloud or locally and notifies you when changes occur. The iOS app delivers push notifications, and a watchlist with history lets you review edits. The extension does not run checks on your phone, preserving battery; the app is used to view and manage your watchlist and alerts.

Configure check intervals (local monitors start as fast as 5 seconds; cloud intervals depend on your plan), choose alert actions (push, email, SMS, Discord/Slack/Webhook), and set conditions to trigger only on important changes. Distill uses a paid subscription via In-App Purchases, with a Starter 7-day free trial; manage auto-renewal in your iTunes Account Settings. For questions, contact support@distill.io.

User Reviews

Distill Web Monitor is powerful and reasonably priced, with strong multi-channel alerting and good support. However, recurring issues include sign-in onboarding problems, unreliable push notifications, billing friction, and occasional missed or noisy stock alerts. Some users also report stability and UX quirks. It suits power users who can handle setup nuances and tolerate reliability gaps in exchange for robust monitoring features.
Pros
  • Effective and customizable website monitoring that minimizes misses and false alarms.
  • Supports multiple alert channels (push, email, text, and webhooks/Discord).
  • Good value for money with affordable pricing.
  • Responsive support and quick bug fixes.
  • Chrome extension workflow integrates well with the app.
Cons
  • Sign-in/sign-up problems that prevent account creation or login.
  • Push notifications are unreliable, especially on iOS 16, with duplicate or noisy alerts.
  • Billing issues, including trial charges and difficulties canceling.
  • Stock alerts can miss drops or be noisy/duplicated.
  • Overall app stability/UX can be buggy (login, crashes, and onboarding quirks).

While this may present as a simple solution, it works best when you spend time tweaking and testing your site monitoring. I’ve been able to set things up right in order to avoid missing things as well as false alarms. If you use this for business or for finding valuable items in a competitive market then it’s well worth the price. My only wishes right now is for there to be an Apple Watch app that I could use to at least see previews of monitor alerts without having to necessarily open my phone to check. Or for the visual preview seen in the email notifications to also be shown in the text notifications and through the webhook interfaces. The visual part is important to me so that would be huge.

Firstly there is a hard cap on the number of searches you have a month that is not communicated with the user when subscribing. Secondly my account didn’t receive full service for the month I was subscribed for. I somehow have 6000/1000 searches used for month. App is complete garbage
