Features & Capabilities

Asad's monumental translation of the Holy Quran dedicated to those "People Who Think". Described as the most helpful and instructive version of the Quran in English.

If all the sea were ink for my Sustainer’s words, the sea would indeed be exhausted ere my Sustainer’s words are exhausted. (Qur’an 18:109)

The Book Foundation is pleased to present the Message of the Quran mobile app.

The Message of the Quran is widely considered among the best of the English language translations of the Quran.

“Extremely coherent, incisive, and thought provoking translation”

It has been widely favoured by substantial institutions and governments around the world as there exists no more useful guide to the Qur'an in the English language, and no other translator has come so close to conveying the meaning of the Qur'an to those who may not be able to read the Arabic text or the classical commentaries.

Amazon readers give the translation a 4.7 out of a 5 star rating.

Asad’s commentary is by universal consent the most suited to the Western mind. The positive potential of its impact on so many people capable of influencing public opinion and shaping public policy could be inestimable in supporting initiatives of mutual respect between communities.

I like this app. It’s handy to have on my phone so I can read along with the reciter. Or, it was. Since the last couple of updates, my app no longer plays the recitations, and I cannot download the surahs without the app crashing. I can still use it to read, but that’s as functional as it is for me at the moment. I would love to have full function back. Especially since I’ve paid to have all reciters available.

Of all the different interpretations of The Holy Quran I’ve read, this one stands out the most. I applaud Muhammad Asad for his interpretation and may Allah bless him for his effort. My only complaint about the app is that I used to be able to copy and paste ayats, but now it won’t let me copy and paste. This was a favorite feature of mine, because I often have debates/open dialogues and the ability to copy and paste from this interpretation has opened the eyes of many who were unaware. Please fix this problem🙏🏾.

This is one of the most accurate & linguistically honest translation of the Quran. The fact that Muhammad Asad was a polyglot and understood the importance of era-cultural context of language, along with structural differences of semitic languages, makes him a reliable authority in translating mushaf. May Allah reward him for this work and raise his ranks in the hereafter-Ameen
