User Reviews

User sentiment is mixed: many praise the app for easy setup, quick device discovery, and reliable mesh performance when it works. However, recurring issues undermine reliability: authentication/login failures on current iOS versions, sign‑in loops, and generic “Oops, something went wrong” errors; the Ethernet backhaul toggle often does nothing; missing dark mode; reports of mesh nodes disconnecting or going offline over time; and a perceived lack of updates and responsive support. Overall, the app is usable but frequently unstable or unsupported, reducing long‑term reliability.
Pros
  • Easy setup and intuitive navigation with quick device discovery
  • Reliable mesh performance and ability to handle many devices
  • App offers useful features like IoT VLAN and teleport options
  • Initial setup and configuration are straightforward and fast
Cons
  • Authentication/login issues across iOS versions, with errors like 'Oops, something went wrong' and sign-in loops
  • Lack of ongoing updates and poor or slow support responses
  • Mesh nodes disconnect or go offline over time, indicating reliability problems
  • Ethernet backhaul toggle button does nothing (backhaul feature not working)
  • Missing dark mode and limited diagnostics/visibility in the app UI

App not working properly. Ghost devices on list. They have not done an update to their app in over two years, leaving users vulnerable. They have apparently “checked out” on this product. Not cool.

Since upgrading to iOS 26 the app no longer works at all. When selecting my AmpliFi Alien router, the app asks for the AmpliFi password, but immediately returns “Oops, something went wrong” after entering it. The network itself is functioning normally and all devices remain online, but the app cannot authenticate with the router, making it impossible to manage the network. Troubleshooting already attempted: • Logging out and back into the AmpliFi account • Deleting and reinstalling the app • Rebooting router and phone • Resetting the router password • Trying multiple iOS devices The issue persists across all devices. Based on other reviews, it appears this may be a compatibility issue with newer iOS versions. The router works, but the app cannot authenticate, which effectively removes the ability to manage the network. Please investigate and release a fix.
