Features & Capabilities

Recording Studio Lite is a multitouch iOS sequencer built for quick, intuitive music creation. It lets you record, edit and mix with up to 4 tracks (32 tracks in Pro) and choose from built‑in virtual instruments like Grand Piano, Drums, Classical Guitar and Electric Guitar. You can record from the built‑in mic, an external mic, or a USB audio interface, and you can import mp3 and wav files. The integrated sample editor supports copy/paste, split, loop, fader and effects such as reverb.

Lite limitations include disabled exporting/mixing, no audio file import beyond what’s listed, only 4 instruments available, limited to 4 tracks, iTunes file sharing is disabled, and MIDI import/export is disabled. The app is continually updated with new features.

User Reviews

Users praise the app for its core recording/editing capabilities and ease of use, but the experience is marred by ads, upgrade frustrations, and export limitations. The Lite version interrupts sessions with ads, and exporting or sharing is blocked or nonseamless, especially across the Lite/Pro boundary. Performance issues like crashes and glitches further hinder use, and Lite’s import/track options are limited. Overall, it delivers basic recording functions, but persistent ads and upgrade/export barriers deter longer-term use.
Pros
  • Easy to use / intuitive interface.
  • Core recording and editing capabilities for music creation.
  • Good potential for music creation with cloud access (iCloud compatibility mentioned by users)
Cons
  • Excessive and intrusive ads that interrupt sessions and playback.
  • Confusing upgrade path between Lite and Pro with poor cross-app integration (two separate apps, difficulty exporting after upgrading).
  • Inability to export or share recordings from Lite and cross-app workflows (export limitations).
  • App crashes, freezes, and glitches during use.
  • Lite version limitations (cannot import existing tracks or add new music, limited instrument options).

If you start with lite, and want to export, you can’t. A pop up window states that you have to purchase recording g studio pro. So I purchase, but it does not update my current app, but puts a whole new app on my phone. The two apps do not communicate with each other. There is still no way to export audio. No copy and paste from on app to the other is possible.

This app almost blew my ears off, so many adds, I’m trying to adjust the sounds for the guitar and all of a sudden the adds pop up and it changes the sounds drastically/ dramatically that there was a super high beep that had me almost rip my earphones off my ears because it was soo loud. I’m deleting
