User Reviews

Reviewers praise Lifeline: Crisis Line for its engaging, emotionally charged storyline and immersive crisis-line texting with a convincing main character, Alex. Many find the narrative gripping and the cliffhangers memorable. Yet a large number lament the limited content—only one story with few endings—and question the price. Technical issues are repeatedly mentioned, including glitches, crashes, delays, and flaky notifications. Some criticize the dense, fast-paced text and the limited dialogue options that limit player choice. Overall, the concept and writing are strong, but concerns about depth, monetization, and reliability temper enthusiasm.
Pros
  • Engaging, emotionally deep storyline with memorable cliffhangers.
  • Immersive, realistic crisis-line texting experience and convincing main character Alex.
  • Unique narrative premise that many players find compelling and addictive.
Cons
  • Only one story with limited endings; not replayable.
  • Price and monetization concerns; many feel it isn’t worth the price.
  • Technical issues: frequent glitches, crashes, delays, and buggy notifications.
  • Dialogue options are limited; responses feel constrained and can lead to unsatisfying outcomes.
  • Text is dense and scrolling too fast; too many messages can be hard to read.

I was excited for this, thinking I was getting a game. It would up being ten minutes? If that. Zero actual choices. Worst waste of time ever. The main character monologues most of the time and you get maybe 15 words in edgewise.

I’ve played all the Lifeline games other than Flatline and this is my least favorite. The main character, Alex, is a detective. He spends half the game telling you about his favorite spots in Austin, and the other half of the game explaining how hard his life is as a cop. Boo hoo, poor Alex. He’s also not a good detective; half the questions he wants to ask have nothing to do with anything, the decisions he makes even after you give advice don’t conform to what a believable detective would do, and he spends more time talking about tacos than suspects. Also, I didn’t want to play a game that acts as a tourist board advertisement for Austin. Honestly, just nowhere near as compelling as any of the other Lifeline games, and really annoying a lot of the time.

The game seems to be delaying, so i close out of it, open again, (and it sometimes has me redo one of my answers again) and it might or might not stop delaying, im not talking about the realistic-ness of the time frame, im talking about the fact that it seems to have a glitch. And sometimes it comes up with an empty page, and then may also take time to load. Which leads me to using fast mode, story line is so good so far! Also a repeat in the story line I’ve noticed.
