Features & Capabilities

LEAD is a Chrome extension designed for church ministry leaders to know the story of their people. It brings groups, people, calendars, and schedules into one place, helping you stay connected, track attendance, remember special days, assign needs, and view group guest lists for better discipleship.

Beyond group management, LEAD provides person profiles, a Timeline of involvement, and visibility into serving, attending, and giving patterns. It includes schedules, service plans, calendars, and process queues, plus Notes to share essential context. An active Church Community Builder account is required and permissions-based access ensures secure, relevant data for your team.

User Reviews

Users praise LEAD. for its feature-rich church-management capabilities and usefulness for volunteers, including events, calendars, and accessible tasks. However, reviews consistently flag major drawbacks: unstable login/authentication, limited mobile functionality, reliability issues, poor support, and iPad orientation limitations. Overall sentiment is mixed: strong features and usefulness are offset by critical usability and support problems that hamper day-to-day use.
Pros
  • Feature-rich church management tool with events, resources, and volunteer workflows.
  • Helpful for volunteers and church administration; useful for scheduling and calendars.
  • Core tasks like taking attendance, viewing schedules, and contacting people are easy on mobile.
  • Recent updates improved iPad usability by adding landscape mode.
  • Overall accessibility and ease of use praised by some reviewers (e.g., 'Absolutely love it', 'great app overall').
Cons
  • Persistent login problems and broken authentication (frequent sign-outs, Face ID issues, church search failures).
  • Mobile feature gaps and editing limitations (cannot log attendance from event screen, limited profile fields, can’t update the database on the fly, difficulty attaching documents in group emails).
  • Stability and performance issues (random freezes, crashes, syncing problems with contacts/calendar).
  • Support challenges (dead links to developers, difficult to reach, basic help pages).
  • UI/UX orientation limitations on iPad (portrait-only in many views, slow to support landscape).

This app is marginal when it works. Like church community builder, it could be much better. As you’ll notice when you try to contact the developers, it is a dead link, which further illustrates how this company is ok taking your money buy they don’t really support their products that well. I tried to report an app bug to customer service and they told me only the official contact at my church could report bugs. Ridiculous.

It’s really great that I can see the events and resources I’ve ordered. It would be nice if I could also access the notes I’ve written on those resources.

PushPay ChMS (formerly Church Community Builder) is very feature rich. The Lead app provides some very useful features but not all. For instance you can’t log attendance from an event screen. Or another: individual profile editing is very limited (ie customized fields seem to be omitted in the app, homebound ministry option is absent, and Sacraments can be viewed but not edited.) There is no access to child work approved dates. And more. I would love to be able to update my database on the fly, on my phone. Yes I can access the site through a browser, BUT it’s all formatted for a desktop. More than 1/2 the time I’m standing in the fellowship hall, in a coffee shop, or in the parking lot when I need full access. PushPay, very happy with what you’ve built. Bring the Lead App up to challenge of accessing all that you’ve given us. Thx!
