Aurebesh IO — No Ads Translator for iOS

Aurebesh IO is a simple, ad-free translator between Aurebesh and English. Type Aurebesh, view translations in either language, and share your messages directly to Facebook or Twitter. Save messages as images to your camera roll and customize text color for styling.

Note on keyboard: Aurebesh is provided by the AurebeshINV font, so Aurebesh input may work only in this app or other compatible apps. This limitation is due to font support, not app design.

User Reviews

The app is a fun, learning-oriented Aurebesh tool with reliable translation and an alphabet display. Reviewers praise its translation and digraph support, but repeatedly note input limitations (no Aurebesh keyboard, copy/paste issues), keyboard/UI misalignment, font/ligature problems, and inconsistent digraph availability across versions. Improvements to input methods, typography, and cross-version consistency would enhance usability.
Pros
  • Fun and educational for Star Wars fans; a good way to learn Aurebesh.
  • Reliable Aurebesh translation to English with an alphabet/symbol list that aids learning.
  • Support for digraphs (th and ch) and automatic translation helps reading real-world signs.
Cons
  • No Aurebesh keyboard; input is limited to copy/paste, which can revert to Latin when pasted and cannot be used to send Aurebesh messages.
  • Keyboard/UI issues: on-screen keyboard layout is misaligned and interferes with gestures, making typing difficult.
  • Font/ligature handling is inconsistent: ligatures can ruin font, and multi-letter digraph ligatures are missing.
  • Digraph support can be inconsistent across versions (th/ch present in some builds but omitted in others) with requests for a toggle.
Recent reviews
It hasn’t been updated in seven years (not since the iPhone X series), but it does what it sets out to do, and you don’t have to subscribe to it for it to be “fully operational.” A mere 99-cent fee turns off ads - and that’s it. It’s hard to find good apps these days that don’t have to be rented to be fully functioning. Don’t wanna pay? You don’t have to - just put up with ugly banner ads.

This is an excellent app i would like to see a sith one in the same as this one, maybe even a huttesse version. I would also be glad to pay for a klingon version. Keep up the hard work
