User Reviews

EVA: Leaf is praised for its simple, fast, and clean UI and useful battery/charging information, often outperforming Nissan’s official app when it connects. However, users frequently encounter login problems, unreliable car connections, and occasional crashes. Dependence on Nissan’s slow network further hampers reliability. Many reviews note long-standing fixes are overdue, though the app remains a strong, user-friendly alternative when it works.
Pros
  • Simple, fast, clean and user-friendly UI that is easy to use.
  • Faster and more responsive than the official Nissan app when it connects.
  • Provides clear battery/charging information and basic controls (charge start, climate) with useful notifications.
  • Notable and timely charging-status notifications, including post-charge battery percentage.
  • Viewed as a welcome, simpler alternative to Nissan’s app.
Cons
  • Persistent login/authentication failures prevent signing in or using the app.
  • Unreliable connection to the vehicle; often cannot connect to the Leaf (various years mentioned).
  • Occasional crashes or the app closing during sign-in or use.
  • Reliance on Nissan’s network, which can be slow and cause delays.
  • Long-standing issues often not resolved for over a year, leaving users unable to use the app consistently.

I was excited to see the update to fix login issues. However, it does not work to log in at all. I have made sure that my email and password were correct by logging in and out of my Nissan Connect App, and EVA does not work. I have a 2018 Nissan Leaf

I haven’t been able to connect / use this app in over a year. I keep trying to see if an update change the problem but it still unusable.
