User Reviews

Nirvana for GTD is highly praised for its GTD-centric design and strong multi-device syncing, plus a clean, focused interface. However, multiple reviews converge on several recurring downsides: unreliable cross-device syncing, a UI/UX that some find non-intuitive or dated, a lack of robust data backup/export options, occasional performance stability problems, and cross-platform feature gaps between web and native apps.
Pros
  • Strong GTD-focused implementation and widely praised as the best GTD app.
  • Excellent cross-device syncing between Mac and iPhone/iPad, keeping data in sync.
  • Clean, GTD-friendly UI that is intuitive and fast.
Cons
  • Sync across devices is unreliable and can require closing apps to sync; data updates can be inconsistent.
  • UI/UX criticized as not intuitive or native; some users describe the design as outdated or unattractive.
  • Lack of easy backup/export options for data and references; risk of losing information.
  • Performance and stability issues such as crashes, blank screens, or long update loops.
  • Cross-platform inconsistencies and gaps, with some features missing on certain platforms or in the web version.

I have been a to do nerd for years. I’ve tried every system I could find: Apple reminders, getting things done, bulletin journal, etc as well as all the apps. Recently I went from an iPhone to basically a dumb phone with an iPad. I switched from Apple reminders with bulletin journaling for to dos back to nirvana hq and am so pleased. It shows me what I need to do when I need to see it and do it. Apple reminders is great in some ways, but it was becoming chaotic. Nirvana HQ is the gold standard for to do apps imo.

I have used GTD since 2018. It’s a simple tool to learn with enough customization options to accomplish and track whatever you require. The price is fair and these days that’s not easy to find.
