Features & Capabilities

NASmeister is a mobile tool for monitoring and managing your Synology NAS from an iOS device. It currently includes modules such as System Info, Task Station, Log Center, and Task Scheduler (tested on DSM 6), offering quick visibility into uptime, health, firmware status, CPU, RAM, and disk usage. More modules are planned for future releases to expand capabilities.

Security and privacy are central: NASmeister uses the official Synology API and does not send login data to third-party servers. Credentials are securely stored in the iOS keychain. For feedback or suggestions, contact support@oldfox.si.

User Reviews

NASmeister is visually appealing with strong NAS management utility and fast support, and users see value in premium modules and future updates. However, the major drawbacks are heavy in‑app purchases, reliability issues, and lack of iPad-native support, plus some feature limitations or misleading descriptions. Overall, it shows promise when it works, but pricing, stability, and iPad usability are the most replicated concerns.
Pros
  • Beautiful UI and polished design that users praise.
  • Very responsive and helpful support from the developer.
  • Useful for NAS management and task automation (e.g., running Python tasks) with a quick NAS overview.
  • Premium modules are viewed as adding future functionality and updates that users anticipate.
Cons
  • Heavy reliance on in‑app purchases and premium gating; free features are limited and there are nagging prompts.
  • Reliability issues like disconnects, errors, and occasional failures when using the app.
  • Poor iPad native support and related UI/usability gaps (e.g., missing add-server button on iPad).
  • Some features are limited or misrepresented in the app description (e.g., link transfer behavior and other capabilities).

What happened did you end the development?

I’ve used the app ever since DSGet got removed from the App Store. It worked great, until I was hit with a “please purchase this module” when trying to add a task
