User Reviews

Users consistently praise RNI Films for authentic film stock look, grain control, and a user-friendly mobile editing experience, plus a favorable pricing model (one-time purchase with a solid free tier). The main criticisms center on monetization changes that lock features behind subscriptions, plus frustration with license restoration and repeat payments. A smaller set of drawbacks includes some UI/UX quirks (e.g., album view clutter, crop tool changes) and occasional missing export options. Overall, the film emulation quality remains the standout strength.
Pros
  • Authentic film stock emulations with strong, customizable grain
  • Easy to use and navigate for quick edits on mobile
  • Good value: one-time purchase options with a solid free tier
  • Wide and varied preset library with customization options (grain/tones)
Cons
  • Features increasingly locked behind a subscription/paywall, frustrating long-time users
  • License/purchase restoration issues or being prompted to pay again after initial purchase
  • Some UI/UX quirks (album view can feel cluttered; crop tool changes) that detract from the editing experience

Good but I pay the monthly payment for the app and I can’t export videos. Every time it just says exported, but the video doesn’t actually go to my phone. I have enough space on my phone. I’m not sure why I can’t. I restarted the phone and cleared cache. Canceled and I wouldn’t pay for this again.

Update: the new HSL adjustments barely move the needle. My colours look the same after I push the sliders all the way. I assume this is an easy fix in a future update. That being said, I love that you guys added HSL to the tool list. Well done. Now maybe borders, apple video log conversion, dodge and burn and lastly, file access. Thank you Update: Finally, Halation and bloom has found its way to RNI. THANK YOU. Now all I need are the requests listed below in my previous review (numbers 3 to 6 in the list below). Star rating has been increased from 1 to 3. Keep up the good work folks. —————————————————————— I can no longer edit videos even though I paid a long time ago. I clicked restore my purchases and it said successful but is still asking me money even though I already paid. SMH. Yet another fluff update. So disappointing. Are you folks serious? 90° turns and horizontal flips in crop tools? Once again… This should be your update pipeline: 1. Halation, 2. Bloom 3. Borders 4. Automatic Apple Log Conversion for video edits 5. Files Access 6. Dodge & Burn (basic) All other updates are low priority and fluff.

I thought that I purchased an app that was forgotten about by its developers, but after seeing a few days ago, there was an update. I was overly excited and upon seeing what you added, I am extremely thankful! Please keep up the good job and I’ll keep telling people about this app in my photography/videography community.
