User Reviews

Users praise LV City Guide for rich, culturally focused city content and frequent updates. However, recurring problems include crashes, a costly per-city and update pricing model, limited visuals and in-app details, weak maps integration, and inconsistent access across devices. These issues undermine what otherwise seems like a valuable travel planning resource.
Pros
  • Rich, culturally focused city content across categories (food, arts, cafes, nightlife, and hotels).
  • Frequent updates keep city guides fresh and relevant.
  • Broad, global applicability with readers discovering favorites and planning trips across many cities.
  • Useful for planning and discovering new experiences beyond the obvious sights.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and instability; the app is often unusable.
  • Expensive per-city purchases with costly updates; unclear value and repeated charges.
  • Text-heavy content with limited images and weak UI/UX; in-app details are sparse.
  • Weak maps integration and lack of in-app details (hours, ambiance) making decisions harder.
  • Account/access and payment issues across devices (re-purchases, errors, inconsistent support).

Why so many spelling and language mistakes in the Cape Town & Singapore guides. It’s unacceptable from LV.

I tried via Apple Maps (free), it was ok as free info but not worth paying USD$10 per city

I’ve purchased my 5th city guides! These guides do a great job of listing all that makes a city unique including food, arts, cafes, nightlife, and hotels. The guides focus on what is culturally significant and cover the range from hip to luxurious. Each landmark/attraction is displayed with nearby attractions making it easy to figure out where to go next. I started with the guide for my adopted home of Los Angeles. The guide contained most of my favorites and has helped me discover more favorites since then. The frequent updates separate these series from their competitors. I have received updates to most of the guides since I downloaded them within the past year.
