User Reviews

User sentiment shows strong map/navigation and offline capabilities as major positives, with users appreciating the mobile map, GPS features, and ability to add boulders and routes. However, repeated complaints center on a confusing UI/UX, limited filtering/sorting options, and cumbersome area downloads that can crash the app or fail offline access. Reliability issues (crashes/crash loops) and performance friction (many clicks, slow navigation, backtracking across areas) are common. Additionally, some users feel premium pricing and feature gating reduce value. Overall, the app offers solid map/data features but is weighed down by stability, usability, and value concerns.
Pros
  • Strong mobile map/navigation experience with solid map data.
  • Offline access with downloadable sectors and GPS-enabled use.
  • Easy to add new boulders, areas, and routes.
  • Rich content, including route photos and gear recommendations.
Cons
  • Unintuitive UI/UX and overall navigation can be confusing.
  • Lack of filtering/sorting features, making it hard to search by grade or filter.
  • Cumbersome area downloading (per-sector downloads) and offline reliability issues, including crashes when downloading larger sectors.
  • Crashes and instability (crash loops, inability to click on problems).
  • Premium price and gating reduces value (grades removed for non-premium, perceived subscription cost).

Maybe the worst UI/UX I’ve experienced for a long time. Interaction loops make no sense. No in-app sorting by grade at a given area. Just let me adjust the grain to all boulders in X area by ascents/etc. Impossible to track back to area fell earmarked/to-do climbs. As a premium service is offers nothing but “here are the climbs”, I’d rather buy 100 guidebooks.

I don’t know how you built such and unintuitive user interface. I’m writing this review after one day of using this app! Here are some of my gripes. 1. There’s no way to easily filter routes in the app. For example, I want to be able to easily search for boulders V6-10 above 1 star. There is no intuitive way to do this in the app. 2. It is unnecessarily difficult to download areas. You have to download “sectors” individually, there is no way to download an entire area (e.g. Rocklands). Why not? Also, my friend downloaded some sectors that were not available later on when he was on airplane mode. 3. The app crashed when I was trying to download a larger “sector” and I came to write this review, cancel my subscription, and search for another product that works. Hope you guys fix this! Would be nice if it worked.
