Summary

Hi there 👋 I'm Mihail and I'm a web developer based in London UK.

As a heavy LinkedIn user, I hated that I got so many posts in my feed that were just liked by someone in my network (cue all the motivational/outrage posts 😄). I'd have to scroll for minutes until I'd finally be able to find something a friend would publish and would be worth commenting on. So I rolled up my sleeves and made this extension 💪

📝 Features:

  • 2 switches for filtering out reactions (e.g. likes, loves, celebrates etc.) and promoted posts
  • stats for how many posts were deleted in the current day and in total
  • an amazing person behind it all (had to be said!)

🤐 NOT-SO-SECRET TIP - open Chrome Dev Tools (Ctrl+Shift+J) while on LinkedIn and you'll see the posts that are being removed from your feed (see 2nd screenshot).

📖 The extension is open source, view its codebase here: https://github.com/mihailthebuilder/simplyfeed

🔎 FINAL NOTE - there might be some occasions where you don't see any posts loading up in your feed. It's because LinkedIn keeps spamming you with liked posts and the extension is doing its job filtering them out. Just scroll to the bottom and your feed should load with new posts.

Release 0.0.0.3 - fixed bug which let background colour of badge slip to its default.

I love the idea of this extension but it is not working for me. Thank you for making this available. I added the extension then signed out of LinkedIn and closed then reopened my browser. Is there another step I need to take to activate your extension?

I'm so thankful you made this. The great aspect about this extension is that it completely hides the filtered posts - the other extension I used only blanked them, meaning I had to scroll forever to reach the unfiltered posts. This extension does a good job getting rid of most posts. Unfortunately, however, there is no way to filter out the posts that my network comments on. I have (sort of) fixed this by combining this extension with LinkOff (the extension that blanks filtered posts). It would be awesome if this extension could allow us to filter posts that the user's network comments on.
