This is a great extension the only issue I have with it though is that I sometimes have to disable/enable it again for it to work. Using the keyboard shortcut also does not work for some reason.

Using it with Microsoft Edge browser and extension causes a weird bug - when restoring the tabs after browser crash/hard PC reset, browser consumes 100% of CPU non-stop, for duration of the browsing session. The only way to solve this high CPU consumption is not to restore the tabs after crash. If I open the same set of tabs from bookmarks or history - the high CPU load does not occur, only when using built in "Restore tabs after the crash" option. And it's Image Dimmer extension fault, 100% sure of it - if I disable the extension, after choosing to restore tabs after browser crash, the issue disappears immediately and CPU consumption of the browser drops to single-digits. Also, when this bug occurs Image Dimmer is not even being used to dim the images - being enabled in extension settings is enough to cause the bug.

Basically does what it says in the description, but it crashes occasionally and needs to be turned off and on again to work. Also, any chance this could be updated to add gif/video support? Or maybe a settings page to manually set brightness and contrast levels, or the ability to disable the hover function? I get that this is supposed to a lightweight extension, but this is honestly the only extension I can find that dims images.
