Hermitation

First Party Isolation extension for Firefox.

Features & Capabilities

First Party Isolation extension for Firefox.

Features:

  • Clicking the popup icons allows to enable or disable First Party Isolation on the fly.
  • Allows to remember previous state of the FPI, or enable/disable it by defeault.
  • Domain whitelisting (experimental)

Please note! Domain whitelisting is purely experimental. Firefox's FPI setting is global, so at this point there's no guarantee it can be triggered on/off fast enough when switching tabs. It can also break various sites that update the content in the background.

Is Hermitation Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Hermitation requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
