User reviews
Users find 'Impulse' to have engaging brain training games that help improve cognitive skills with a good variety of daily challenges. However, many report poor customer support, confusing and costly subscription practices, lack of account syncing leading to lost progress, and excessive advertisements even after purchase. The app lacks detailed analytics on user improvement, and some feel the training is not as comprehensive as expected. Overall, while it offers enjoyable exercises, user experience is negatively impacted by subscription and support issues.
Pros
- Engaging and fun brain training games that challenge cognitive skills such as memory, math, pattern recognition, and problem-solving.
- Provides variety in daily exercises and puzzles keeping users interested over time.
- Helpful for mental acuity improvement and may benefit people with memory or concentration issues.
- Competitive features like ranking among peers encourages continued usage.
- Smooth app performance without major bugs mentioned.
Cons
- Poor customer service especially regarding account issues and subscription problems.
- Subscription and payment model is confusing and expensive with no clear free trial—users report immediate charges and difficulty canceling or avoiding auto-renewal.
- Account recovery and syncing across devices is problematic; users lose progress and find accounts not recognized after reinstall or phone change.
- Excessive and intrusive ads even for paying users; ads sometimes interrupt gameplay causing frustration.
- Lack of meaningful progress analytics or detailed feedback on brain improvements; some tests are repetitive or not insightful.

For the first few weeks I was excited to see what this app had to offer (I got a year subscription). However after over a month of daily playing I've realized it's pretty meh. I'm hitting levels in the daily brain training that make it almost impossible to improve due to the difficulty and time limit and there are ZERO analytics on any improvements or areas of strength/weakness/etc. Less of a brain trainer and more of a time waster at a certain point.

Paid for annual premium access and only got 6 months! I got a new phone and when I opened the app on the new phone my email was suddenly "not recognized". Contacted the developer and play store, both denied any sort of refund. Worst part is I didn't mind the app as far as content. I would've given 4/5 because it did start to get boring after awhile. But they get a 1 for their poor customer service.
