Features & Capabilities

Furiganaize - Automatic Furigana for Japanese Kanji

Furiganaize is a powerful Chrome extension designed to automatically add furigana (振り仮名) to Japanese kanji characters on any webpage. Perfect for learners and readers of Japanese, this tool enhances readability by displaying pronunciation hints directly above the kanji. It supports dynamic pages like Twitter and features a toggle shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+F) for quick access.

This extension is forked from FuriganaInjectorPlusPlus and improved with WebExtension compatibility including Firefox for Android support, a floating button for mobile use, dark/light theme support, and significant performance optimizations using WebWorker. While the furigana provided is for convenience and may not always be perfect due to natural language processing challenges, it serves as a helpful reference for users.

Furiganaize offers a sleek user experience with customizable options, real-time annotation, and ongoing bug fixes to ensure smooth operation across various websites. Explore Japanese texts with ease and confidence, knowing the furigana is just a click away!

Awesome, does exactly what you want it to and straight to the point without any hassle of self loading or tinkering in menus! Thank you so much, #1 add-on for furigana on browsers!

Could you please make the extension accessible via the context menu? On macOS, the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + F activates fullscreen mode rather than enabling the extension, which limits usability. Additionally, the extension appears to break the header layout on certain websites, such as mainichi.jp. It would be great if this could be addressed for better compatibility. Thank you for your work! 拡張機能をコンテキストメニューからも使用できるようにしていただけますか?macOSでは、Command + Shift + Fのショートカットはフルスクリーンモードを起動してしまい、拡張機能が有効になりません。そのため、操作性に制限があります。 また、mainichi.jp のような一部のウェブサイトでは、拡張機能がヘッダーのレイアウトを崩してしまう問題が発生しています。より良い互換性のために、こちらもご対応いただけると幸いです。 いつも素晴らしい開発をありがとうございます。
