Furigana Toggle is a simple and effective Chrome extension designed to help Japanese language learners improve their kanji reading skills. It allows users to easily toggle the visibility of furigana (pronunciation guides) on any website, providing a helpful way to test reading comprehension without relying too heavily on furigana hints.

The extension offers two key modes: completely hide all furigana or hide furigana but reveal it on hover. In the hover mode, kanji with hidden furigana can also be highlighted in a different color for easy identification. With just one click, Furigana Toggle hides or shows furigana across all open tabs, making language practice seamless and convenient. Note that the extension can only hide existing furigana and cannot add furigana to pages that do not already have it.

Works great on nishinippon.co.jp's やさしい日本語. I was going to use Yomitan for help on individual words but then I discovered this addon's hover functionality! Awesome work.
