The Download by Free Download Manager Chrome extension enhances your browser's download capabilities by integrating it with the popular Free Download Manager software. It offers two main modes: context menus on links, audio, video, and image elements; and intercepting downloads to redirect large or specific types of files automatically to the external manager.

Lightweight in design, this extension only operates when the network observer is enabled, consuming minimal system resources. Users can set conditions based on file size, MIME types, and multi-threading support to control when files are handed off to Free Download Manager. A native client installation (NodeJS based) is required on Windows, Linux, or Mac OS to enable full functionality.
