Download by Internet Download Manager is a lightweight Chrome extension that integrates Internet Download Manager (IDM) functionality directly into your browser. It offers two modes: context menu options on links, audio, video, and image elements, and interception of the browser's built-in download manager to redirect large or specific downloads to IDM.

Users can customize conditions to automatically use IDM based on file size thresholds, file types, and whether the server supports multi-threading. This extension requires installing an open-source NodeJS native-client on Windows, Linux, or Mac OS, with guided setup on first use. Note that this is an independent project and not affiliated with Tonec Inc., makers of Internet Download Manager.
