Extension summary

Revision History helps teachers see students' process when they write essays in Google Docs. It is meant to help teachers guide their students through revisions as well as to ensure that students are not just copy/pasting text from AI/LLMs/ChatGPT or other sources.

With Revision History, you can see:

  • How many edits students made to their essays
  • How long they spent writing
  • What snippets they copy/pasted
  • Watch a video replaying the document being written

It also works with documents submitted to Google Classroom (as long as they were drafted in Google Docs).

this extension does not pass the vibe check

This clearly an open source keylogger! Major security concerns are displayed in this extension. I agree that this is a powerful and extremely useful tool for teachers that could help them with ensuring a student's work is truly theirs, but I am extremely concerned by the functions and intentions of this extension. The playback function clearly demonstrates the use of a keylogger and may even encourage others to extract the source code of the program and use it for illegal purposes. As the user below 'ropz florr' has said, this extension does not pass the vibe check.
