Review summary

Users appreciate the WalkingPad R1 Pro/R2 app for its reliable basic treadmill control, ease of use, and compatibility with various WalkingPad models. The app offers Google Fit integration and a clean interface without ads. However, major drawbacks include inconsistent syncing with Google Fit, lack of auto-reconnect after device restarts, and absence of advanced workout programming. Some users report control conflicts between remote and app, and the app lacks data export options. Overall, it's a practical, ad-free alternative to official apps but could improve in data handling and feature depth.
Pros
  • App works well and is easy to use as a controller alternative to the official Xiaomi app, especially for WalkingPad base and Kingsmith models.
  • Developer is responsive and helpful, with useful features like Google Fit integration in some cases.
  • No ads and offers a clean, functional user interface with core features working reliably.
  • Compatible with multiple WalkingPad variants including Dynamax and Kingsmith, sometimes requiring minor device name tweaks.
  • Allows remote control of treadmill functions, substituting the physical remote effectively.
Cons
  • Google Fit synchronization is inconsistent or unreliable, with some users reporting sync failures or missing workout data.
  • App does not automatically reconnect to the WalkingPad after it is turned off and on, requiring manual app restart.
  • Lacks advanced workout programming features like customizable training plans, preset programs, or automatic stop conditions.
  • Speed adjustment sometimes conflicts between app and physical remote controls, causing unexpected speed rollbacks.
  • No built-in export or backup features for workout data, causing concern over data management and duplication.

Love that app, works really good. I also would like to request one feature - some kind of a toggle to change speed between two exact values (like for walking and running). It's not easy to swipe on the run.

Great App. One problem, i updated from Android 13 > 14. After that Health Connect Sync doesn't work. I disabled and enabled it again and it synced everything (so had duped in other app), but after that initial sync it stopped again. So no idea what i could try without duping old records again. Another idea, let us choose the workout is indoor running or indoor walking. Now its all time Running and i need to reconfig it in the other app. Add an export/backup feature for the data, would be nice

Great UI and nice features, and super helpful developer (reached out via email ). Turning off battery optimisation solved my issues of sessions not saving.

Seems OK but workout doesn't appear in completed and therefore sync doesn't happen. Effectively useless to me therefore.

The app doesn't reconnect when the WalkingPad is turned off and back on. I need to force quit and reopen the app every single time. Also, the app doesn't log the workout if the app is killed by OS even if you reopen the app and reconnect.

Appears to work with the base model WalkingPad too. At least can be controlled from the app and doesn't conflict with remote. Set Bluetooth device name to "WalkingPad". Fingers crossed for Google Fit integration, that was the whole point for me

It would be great to add watch controls so you wouldn't need your phone to adjust or stop.

Would be great if you guys added the ability to collect heart rate monitor data that would get saved with the workout. Also would be a massive upgrade if you could automate workouts by entering a time, distance, steps or a calories goal that would automatically stop the treadmill when reached. Maybe even some preset programs like gradual increase in speed for a warmup period, interval training, etc. I am currently achieving this with Tasker, but would be better all baked in.

There is a bug causing the speed selected via remote to conflict with the speed in the app.Example : Remote has decreased speed by 1km (2 clicks), the treadmill would be slowing down, before the app rollback to the previous higher speed.

No adware, works wonderfully. Prime example of how pure apps should be. 11/10 would install everywhere.
