StromPing is an Android app for monitoring power outages on a mobile phone with a SIM card. The device remains connected to its charger and detects when it switches from mains power to battery operation. At that moment, the app can automatically send an SMS alert to up to three saved phone numbers.

The app is particularly suitable for vacation homes, aquariums, refrigerators and freezers, heating systems, pumps, utility rooms, routers, server rooms, and other locations where a power outage needs to be detected quickly. The recipient does not need any additional app. The alert arrives as a standard SMS or email.
