Okolí

Okolí ("Surroundings") shows you who's around right now – on the square, in the park, at a café, at an event or in a dorm. No profiles, no photos, no "friends". Just a nickname you pick.

HOW IT WORKS
• Tap "Scan" and the app briefly takes your location. It shows who has the app open within 50 m of you (a 100 m circle).
• The app doesn't track your location in the background – it only takes it for that one scan.
• "Active" means someone genuinely has the app open right now. The moment they close it or leave the screen, they disappear for everyone else.
• Below the active people you'll see "Recently here" – who was here in the past hour.

PLACE CHAT
• Every place has its own shared chat. Anyone who opens the app there can see it.
• You can write even when nobody's there – whoever arrives within the hour will see it. Chat messages disappear after about an hour.
• Above the input you see how many people are around.

PLACE MESSAGE
• To leave something for longer, use "Add your own message". It shows under "Messages" to everyone within about 150 m – whether or not you're there or have the app open.
• You choose how long it lasts: 1 hour, 12 hours, 1 day or 3 days.
• You can have up to 3 messages at once in different spots (only one per spot), up to 300 characters each.
• Whoever reads your message can reply to it once. You'll see the reply next time you open the app – even somewhere else.

PRIVACY AND ANONYMITY
• Sign-in is anonymous – no email or phone number.
• Your nickname is just a display name, isn't registered anywhere and doesn't have to be unique – change it anytime.
• Your precise location is never stored; only an approximate location cell is shared.

SAFETY
• The app is for users aged 18 and over only.
• You can block or report anyone right from the list of people around – blocking only applies on your phone.
• We review reported content and block violating accounts.

LANGUAGES
Czech, Slovak, English – switch right inside the app (🌐 top right).

WHAT IT'S NOT FOR
Okolí assumes you're staying in one spot. On the move (car, train) or while walking you won't meet others. Scan once you've stopped somewhere.
