Container Traffic Control Firefox

Container Traffic Control

By: kau.sh
A powerful but simple rule based system, that will allow you to control which (Firefox) container, a website will open up in.

Features & Capabilities

Container Traffic Control makes Firefox's Multi-Account Containers even more powerful by automatically routing websites to the right container based on rules that you define.

Why Use Container Traffic Control?

There are various add-ons that attempt to control which websites open up in a container but it always felt (even with these add-ons), there was a level of control lacking, which would make you fight the container setup more than just use it smoothly.

I created this extension based on my own experience of using containers and various other add-ons. I came up with this mechanism of setting rules because it felt closest to how i wanted to leverage and use Containers.

How the Rules work

  1. We list out all the existing containers
  2. You start by marking the container as "open" or "restricted"
  3. You provide a url pattern (either a simple url or complex regex - we accept both) ... now just use Firefox normally and CTC will do its thing

Is Container Traffic Control Safe?

Risk impact

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Container Traffic Control requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
