Container Autopilot

Container Autopilot puts your containers on autopilot.

Disposable by default Every new tab (Ctrl/Cmd+T), every link opened from another app, and every address you type into an uncontained tab opens in a fresh temporary container. When its last tab closes, the container — and all its cookies and site data — is deleted automatically. Nothing lingers.

Rules route to permanent containers Define regular-expression rules that always open matching sites in a specific permanent container — your bank, your work domain, your personal accounts. The first matching rule wins. When a navigation doesn't match any rule, you can also choose a permanent container for it on the spot instead of falling back to a temporary one.

Containers can mirror tab groups Turn on grouping for any permanent container and every tab opened in it automatically joins a same-named tab group. An option auto-collapses every other group when you switch into one, so your tab strip only ever shows the group you're actually using.

Stays out of your way Follow a link inside a container and you stay in that container. Container Autopilot only steps in for brand-new navigations, so normal browsing feels unchanged.

One-click control from the toolbar The toolbar popup shows the current page and the container it's in. From there you can add a rule for the current site, spin up a new permanent container — choosing its color on the spot — or instantly reopen the current page in any container.

A full management page The "manage all" page lets you edit, add, delete, and reorder rules; create, rename, or delete permanent containers; toggle tab grouping per container (or for all of them at once); and export your whole setup to a file or import it back.

Container Autopilot is built directly on Firefox's container feature (it enables it automatically if it isn't already) and doesn't require the Multi-Account Containers add-on, though the two coexist fine.

Privacy: Container Autopilot collects no data. Your rules and settings are stored locally in your browser and never leave your device (unless you export a backup file yourself).
