User Reviews
Very obtuse UX that comes from its text based UI, I have to basically relearn every time I want to change a setting. At least it works for those that understand it.

works, but the configuration syntax is needlessly arcane, could do with a sensible default (eg close tabs after 12 hours or something). The fact that "any container" is different from "no container" also does not make much sense to me, made it feel like the extension was broken.
other than that it's quite good! although i find it a bit odd that while you can make the rules extremely granular, down to whether you want to match about: or http(s): pages, its kind of weird that the tab limit (and closing time) applies to them all. for this level of granularity it would make more sense to me if you could configure multiple tabs-to-keep, timeout, match/ignore rules sets. or else make the configuration more simple, eg only allow a single regex match, and don't differentiate between containers.

Is Auto Close Tabs Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
Auto Close Tabs requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
