ConsistentHTTPS Firefox

ConsistentHTTPS

Prevents going accidentally from secure HTTPS version of a site to unsecure HTTP version of the same site.

Features & Capabilities

Caution: the extension does not prevent opening a site via HTTP and does nothing if the site is opened via HTTP and not via HTTPS. It is not an equivalent of addons like HTTPS Everywhere.

Automatically replaces the http protocol with the https in links and forms that lead to pages of the same site (optionally including its subdomains).

The extension does not use any predefined URL databases and solely relies on the fact of opening the current page via the HTTPS protocol that guarantees the site supports HTTPS.

Unobtrusive, does what it is supposed to do (keeping subdomains into the HTTPS ring whenever possible) and it does so without fuzz. Thanks for sharing, developer!. You help us save time and make the world a better place.

Is ConsistentHTTPS Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

ConsistentHTTPS requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
