Wisdom of Athena

Paint a plate, heat one edge and watch 👀 how heat spreads through it.

Wisdom of Athena is a heat lab for your phone 📱. You build 🔨 a square plate out of different materials, heat or chill its edges and watch 👀 the temperature spread across it.

Paint the plate with copper, aluminium, carbon steel, granite, brick, glass, water, pine, EPS foam or still air. Cut a void to block the heat. Pin edges hot or cold, then place probes where you want a reading.

Press run and the plate fills with colour and labelled contour lines. Step through the simulation one frame at a time ⏱️, or fast ⚡-forward until it settles. When the plate reaches steady state, you see 👀 how long it took and the final temperature at each probe.

What you can do:
- Start 🚀 from seven ready-made plates, such as a copper fin, a window pane, a heat-sink comb or a cracked plate.
- Browse the material list 📋 and compare ⚖️ how fast ⚡ each one conducts heat.
- Save 💾 your own plates with a name and notes 📝, and load them back to the bench later.
- Read probe temperature curves over time ⏱️ for every run.
- Compare ⚖️ time ⏱️-to-steady across all your runs in the run log 📝, and use the quick benchmark to time a preset.
- Learn 📖 the basics in the field guide, which has a live rod demo and short notes 📝 on diffusivity, edges, isotherms and stability.

Wisdom of Athena suits students, teachers and curious people who want to see 👀 why ❓ copper warms fast ⚡ and foam holds heat. Try a plate, change one material and watch what happens. Open Wisdom of Athena, pick a preset and press run.
