Review summary
Pros
- Accurate color matching especially when scanning professionally prepared paint samples or known paint cans.
- Helps users find near-perfect or close color matches for walls and painted surfaces.
- Useful for painters and professionals to verify paint shades.
- Ability to filter matching colors by paint manufacturer improves accuracy.
- Enables users to scan stained surfaces for color matching, which is not possible at some paint stores.
Cons
- Requires additional external hardware device for color scanning, which is not clearly stated in the app.
- User interface and user experience are clunky, non-intuitive, and need major improvements.
- Scan management is difficult: users cannot batch move, rename, or delete scans, causing frustration.
- App connectivity issues especially after updates, with device connections failing and poor customer support.
- Excessive number of color matches returned with no easy way to filter by brands or narrow search results.
- Requires creating an account and logging in before use, which some users find annoying or unnecessary.

| 2024-10-30 | Excellent device it has helped me tremendously identifying all the colors in a house I just purchased. I highly recommend this device to anyone that's looking to get a perfect or nearly perfect match to their colors. | ||

| 2022-08-23 | Garbage, whoever messed this app up sucks. It did work fantastic and then someone messed with everything and the app won't operate correctly. I use this tool on every job as a painter. It was recently updated and now it doesn't work, I am stuck and the loading brands page. Lame! | ||

| 2021-11-22 | Really useful and nifty tool! But the software is super clunky. UX needs a major overhaul. UGH. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE! I scanned 100 colors from a fan deck I borrowed. I forgot to reset the filter to "paint" so all the colors have similar and useless names. I also forgot to have the folder open when I scanned. So trying to move 100 scans to folders individually is miserably slow, especially since I can't figure out which scans match the fan deck. I can't keep track of which ones have been saved to a folder since there is no "move" or "rename" feature for scans in the history. It's kind of a nightmare. UX FUNCTIONALITY CHANGES. (1) Need to be able to move, copy, delete scans in BATCH, to and from folders and scan history. (2) Hitting the back arrow should not take you all the way back to the beginning or kick you out when you are looking at your scan details. (3) Action button should not be so far down in the screen. (4) Need to be able to retroactively change the display features of scans in the history if you accidentally had the wrong filter specified when scanning. (5) Need to be able to rename colors in the scan history before saving to a folder. (6) Need to be able to MOVE scans from history, instead of having to SAVE and then DELETE, especially when the scan color names are not very unique and hard to track. ACCURACY is good when scanning professionally prepared paint samples and surfaces. However, when scanning painted surfaces and samples at home the hue number seems to vary up to 5% depending which part of the surface I measure. That is enough to change the sample from a 5 star to a 4 star match with the actual known color formula. MATH SEEMS WRONG. There seems to be something wrong with the Coordinating Colors algorithms. None of the functions seem to be mathematically accurate. e.g. The Complimentary button gives me a nearby color instead of an opposite one. BETTER THAN PAINT STORE. It is really great that the tool allows you to scan stained surfaces and get a pretty good match. You can't get that at Home Depot because their color match system can't read surfaces like that (or so the employees say, anyway.) | ||

| 2021-09-01 | This thing absolutely refused to connect to my galaxy s9+ that's well within the updated category for this pos. It connected instantly to my wife's IPhone. Before figuring out that my wife's phone would work, I sent 6 messages to customer support and 3 days later, still haven't received any response. Customer service is absolute trash and I'm not even sure the colors match. I bought the paint and I'll update my review if they actually work out tomorrow. As of this minute, I'm disgusted with it. | ||

| 2021-07-23 | Maybe I missed something obvious, but it was not clear to me that you MUST HAVE the external 'Muse' scanning hardware device. I am looking for an app that would use my phone camera for paint color samples. Would be glad to rate higher for ease of use and overall UI if it were more cleary stated about added devices so that noobs like me don't get our hopes up. I navigated through different screens and it seems straightforward enough. | ||

| 2021-05-12 | Does a pretty good job. Unfortunately renaming folders is a PITA. The app will repeatedly kick you off your keyboard as you try to type in a name. This can happen at least 3 times in a row. Also, would like to be able to bulk delete folders instead of having to go in and individually delete them. I would like to be able to creat a main folder with sub folders of colors within. For example: I would have a main folder for House A that has all the rooms within individual sub folders. Thanks! | ||

| 2021-05-06 | First Day Looks Good. I used on a freshly painted wall. The color I bought showed up on the list so we were in the ballpark. The other colors were almost identical to my eye so that is better. For $60 that close is pretty darn good! Tip: click on the color you like to save it. 4 stars with an option for 5. | ||
