Pinpoint: Mobile Analytics

Televate's Pinpoint platform allows you to get the facts on your carrier’s coverage and performance. It’s crowdsourcing that lets you define the crowd and collect data where you want, when you want, and how you want.

Introducing new Pinpoint 2.0 features! Televate’s new Pinpoint 2.0 features provide new capabilities, including enhanced 5G service detection (such as Verizon’s Ultra Wideband, AT&T’s 5G+, and T-Mobile’s Ultra Capacity) and new reporting to comply with the Federal Communication Commission’s Mobile Challenge process. Our new Android client is coupled with substantial enhancements to our Pinpoint Dashboard to easily compare cellular carrier coverage and performance.

Pinpoint collects critical mobile service information such as service availability, signal strength, frequency, cellular technology, ping and throughput performance. The app runs in the background to automatically capture coverage and test data and uploads it to Televate's secure cloud service; no user intervention or training is required. With a Televate Pinpoint subscription, we can provide you with maps and statistics on carrier coverage and performance in your area. Usage Details:

Compatible only with Android 8.0 and above. Data collection is dependent on device implementation of the Android APIs. Not all devices fully or properly implement the Android APIs and report all of the key pieces of information. Contact Televate at pinpoint@televate.com for recommendations on devices that provide key network information.

Pinpoint uses the device’s location in order to build maps. It collects data in the background and requires permissions for precise location even when the app is not in the foreground. To stop collecting data, including your location, simply exit the application. Pinpoint collects and uploads data to our secure cloud services including a cryptographic hash of the phone number to place the users in the appropriate customer account and produce coverage maps for the account (each account consists of a group of users).
