SyncNewFilesToServer is a free, focused Android app that quietly uploads newly created files from your phone to your own server over SFTP, FTP, or FTPS.

Take a photo. Walk away. It uploads in the background — no cloud subscription, no ads, no account with us. Your files go to your server.

WHAT IT DOES
• Watches folders you choose (Camera/Pictures and other local folders)
• Uploads only new files — incremental, not a full mirror
• Supports SFTP, FTP, and FTPS
• Safe transfer: uploads as a temporary .partial file, verifies size, then renames
• Never deletes local files and never syncs from the server back to the phone
• Remembers what was already uploaded so it doesn’t re-upload blindly

4. Choose when to watch for new files
5. Turn syncing on — you’re done

WHEN TO WATCH (PER JOB)
• Silent — Best for Camera/Pictures. Uses system media events. No permanent monitoring notification. Ideal when you want uploads to “just happen.”
• On unlock / when phone is used — Quiet catch-up when you unlock or use the phone. Good for folders that aren’t standard Camera/Pictures paths. No permanent monitoring notification.
• Always-on — Persistent background monitoring with a status notification. Most reliable if your phone is aggressive about killing background apps.

You can mix modes across jobs. If any job needs Always-on, the app uses that; otherwise it stays quiet.

BACKGROUND BY DESIGN
• Works after reboot (once the device is unlocked)
• Upload-now, pause/resume, retry failed, and rescan when you need manual control
• Network rules: Wi-Fi only, unmetered, or any network
• Optional: charging only and minimum battery level
• Baseline options: new files only (recommended), upload everything present, or start from a cutoff date

HONEST LIMITATIONS
• Android (and especially Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, etc.) may pause background work to save battery. For best results, allow unrestricted battery and follow the in-app tips.
• Silent mode is for MediaStore Camera/Pictures-style folders. Other folders use Unlock or Always-on.
• Plain FTP is unencrypted — prefer SFTP or FTPS when you can.
• Force-stopping the app or deep “sleeping apps” lists can stop monitoring until you open the app again.
• This is one-way upload of new files — not full two-way sync and not a backup that re-downloads from the server.
