Features & Capabilities

Fretonomy is an interactive educational game designed to help musicians of all levels master the fretboard of guitar and other stringed instruments. It offers over 25 different games focusing on notes, chords, scales, intervals, staff reading, and the circle of fifths. Users can customize their practice by selecting specific fretboard sections and explore a wide variety of chord patterns and musical scales.

Supporting 9 instruments—including standard guitars, basses, mandolin, ukulele, and banjo—Fretonomy allows detailed progression tracking through a heat-map and statistics. Additional features include chord progression generators for songwriting, staff reading games, multiple tuning options, left-handed mode, and support for diverse musical notations like Solfege and Indian systems. Both beginners and advanced players can deepen their knowledge and skills in a fun, gamified environment with the option to unlock full instrument training via in-app purchases.

even the free tools are useful to an extent might buy the subscription for the full app but so far it's quite good. if your not sure you want to really learn in depth music then try the free tools and see where you go from there.

My initial experience with this app was not a pleasant one, there were many bugs and non-functional features that kept me from even wanting to use it. However, I reported the bugs to the developer, and they responded to my email within the same day and even started working on fixes as I gave them more info. They fixed three different bugs in the course of mere hours, and have absolutely earned a positive review replacing my original negative one.
