User Reviews

SomNote is praised for its simple, beautiful UI and strong cross-device syncing across Android, iOS, and web, with a long history of notes and solid organization. However, recurring issues include mandatory permissions that raise privacy concerns and recurring server downtime/login problems that disrupt access, especially during migrations. Overall, it remains a beloved, durable note app when available, but reliability and privacy concerns keep the experience from being flawless.

Pros

Easy to use with a simple, clean UI.
Excellent cross-device syncing across Android, iOS, and web/PC.
Long-standing, trusted app used for many years.
Strong organization features like folders, file locking, and color-coding.
Beautiful design and built-in backup/sync to SomNote Cloud.

Cons

Requires multiple permissions (Phone, Contacts, Photos, Audio) to start, which many users view as invasive.
Frequent server downtime and login/access problems, sometimes locking you out during migrations.
Intermittent connectivity errors and reliability issues (forbidden/poor network messages, occasional 500 errors).
