User Reviews
Pros
- Provides accurate interpupillary distance (IPD) measurements, often matching professional optician results.
- Easy to use with a simple, clean interface and straightforward instructions.
- Fast process taking only a few minutes to complete measurements.
- Consistent results when proper lighting and positioning are maintained.
- Helpful for calibrating VR headsets and obtaining IPD without professional tools.
Cons
- App struggles to recognize dots on certain screens or devices, causing repeated prompts despite dots being visible.
- Compatibility issues with some devices (e.g., Samsung S22 Ultra) leading to app crashes or failure to open.
- Instructions can be insufficient or unclear, especially regarding proper distance and lighting for accurate measurement.
- Some users experience inconsistency in measurements across multiple attempts, with variations up to 2 mm.
- App sometimes fails to take the measurement photo or process images due to camera issues or app errors.
Recent reviews
Very accurate. Matched optician's measurement and my own measurements using a ruler in a mirror. Also got single vision distance glasses parameters correct. First app measurement was exactly correct while using the best direct lighting against a solid white background and my driver's license. Second measurement was 0.5 mm under due to non-solid background and mixed lighting. I recommend taking multiple measurements with the app and also multiple ruler measurements while accounting for parallax.

"Male sure all the dots are visible on your mobile screen" is said again and again. Trust me, all the dots are visible. In addition, the PD estimate is ok, but it seems to vary by up to 2 mm under repeated measures (and it has never equaled my actual PD). This doesn't seem accurate enough to be useful unless you're truly unwilling to visit a trained professional.
