IPD Measure — Pupil Distance Android

IPD Measure — Pupil Distance

Measure your pupillary distance privately, on-device.

Features & Capabilities

IPD Measure estimates your pupillary distance (PD) in seconds, using just your phone's front camera — entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is tracked.

Your PD is the distance between the centers of your pupils, in millimeters. It's something glasses opticians measure, and something VR/AR headsets ask you to know when calibrating.

TWO ACCURACY TIERS

• FREE — uses the adult-average iris diameter as the in-frame ruler. Good for most non-medical uses, no setup required.

• PREMIUM — accurate to your irises. One-time card calibration: we use a credit, debit, or ID card (ISO 7810 standard, 85.6 mm) held against your forehead as a known-size ruler to measure YOUR actual iris diameter once, saved to your device forever. Every measurement after that is calibrated to you specifically.

WHY ON-DEVICE?
IPD Measure uses Google's MediaPipe iris-tracking model, running locally, to detect your irises with a 478-point face mesh — frame by frame, in real time. Three short readings are averaged for stability, with median-of-readings outlier rejection so a single bad sample (a blink, a head tilt) can't skew the result.

PRIVACY-FIRST
• Camera frames are processed on your device only.
• No frames, photos, or measurements ever leave your phone.
• No account. No analytics. No tracking.
• No internet connection required to measure.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Hold your phone at arm's length and look at the focus dot.
2. Stay still for three seconds while we capture a reading.
3. Repeat three times — we average the results for accuracy.

If you blink or shift, the timer pauses and resumes automatically. The result appears in millimeters as soon as the third reading is complete.

USE CASES
• Ordering glasses online and need to know your PD
• Calibrating a VR or AR headset (Xreal, Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, etc.)
• Curiosity about your own measurements

IMPORTANT
IPD Measure produces an estimate, not a medical or prescription-grade measurement. Accuracy depends on lighting, your distance to the camera, and how square-on you face it. For prescription eyewear or any official documentation, always consult a licensed optician.

IN-APP PURCHASES
Premium card calibration is a one-time purchase, processed through Google Play in your local currency. The free tier remains fully functional — calibration is purely an accuracy upgrade. No subscriptions, no recurring charges.
