User Reviews

Users praise mySymptoms Food Diary for being easy to use and highly customizable, with strong support for tracking food, symptoms, and medications, plus shareable reports for clinicians and a large food database. Cross-device backup and a usable free version are common positives. The main downsides are the cost and feature gating of the paid plan, billing/dispute friction, and occasional UX issues like signup problems and data-entry instability. Some would like more freedom on free plans and improvements to the barcode and input reliability.
Pros
  • Easy to use with an intuitive GUI and quick to learn.
  • Highly customizable for tracking food, symptoms, medications, and triggers.
  • Allows sharing reports/data with healthcare providers.
  • Large prefilled food database and straightforward data entry.
  • Cross-device auto backup and generally accessible free version.
Cons
  • Subscription costs and feature gating: paid plan is expensive and blocks adding/editing symptoms.
  • Billing issues and poor support for disputing charges.
  • UX issues and data-entry instability: signup difficulties, input disappearing, and occasional hangs.
  • Free version limits on the number of symptoms you can track.

mySymptoms has made tracking meals and symptoms much easier. Sharing my diary with my dietician by pressing one button is a game changer.

This app is very useful for tracking symptoms. I do really really wish there were more settings/options in the analysis portion. For example, I'm trying to figure out what triggers my diarrhea. I know it's not foods I ate 15 minutes ago, it takes something like 6-18 hours for a good to trigger my symptoms. So while you can set a maximum time frame in the options, you can't set a minimum. This makes an awful lot of false positives show up in the results.
