Sentella — AI Call Assistant

Sentella is the assistant that answers the calls you can't (or don't want to) take — it takes messages, screens unwanted calls, and shuts down scam attempts, including the ones that target older adults. Currently in an invite-only pilot.

HOW IT WORKS
When someone you know calls, you answer as usual. For unknown numbers, you choose how you're reached: your phone can ring first, or the assistant can talk to the caller, understand what it's about, and take a message.

Many phone scams rely on fear, urgency, and pressure. Sentella helps create a pause before a decision. On calls answered by the service, the assistant can recognize common risk signals, organize what was said, and make it easier to double-check with someone you trust.

No app blocks 100% of scams. Sentella reduces interruptions and adds context, but never replaces your judgment, confirmation through official channels, or guidance from authorities.

FOR YOU AND THE PEOPLE YOU CARE FOR
Sentella can be used on its own or with a trusted circle. On compatible plans, family members can be invited to follow messages and receive alerts. Adding another person requires an invitation, activation, and consent on their own device.

HOW ACTIVATION WORKS
To offer the full experience, Sentella asks to be set as the default phone app and requests only the permissions needed for the features you turn on — such as contacts, call log, phone state, microphone, and notifications.

Assistant answering uses carrier call forwarding. Availability and activation codes vary by carrier, plan, and line type. The app guides setup and shows how to turn answering off. Uninstalling the app alone may not cancel a forwarding rule that is still active.

PRIVACY AND TRANSPARENCY
When the assistant answers, it identifies itself as an assistant and tells the caller the conversation may be recorded, transcribed, and analyzed to handle the call, take the message, and spot risk signals. The app explains permissions and data handling before activation.
