Features & Capabilities

ScrollKiller: Be in Control helps you break free from doomscrolling and regain focus. Its intelligent scroll detection identifies mindless social media use, interrupts compulsive scrolling, and redirects you toward meaningful goals, tasks, or custom notes.

Enable Hard Mode to pause before opening selected social media apps, while custom notes provide a place for goals, ideas, and healthier alternatives. ScrollKiller uses Android Accessibility Service only when enabled to block websites, limit short-form content, and activate grayscale mode. No data is collected or shared, and the service can be disabled anytime in Android settings.

User Reviews

Reviews most often praise ScrollKiller for reducing mindless scrolling and prompting users to reflect before opening social apps. The intentional delay is a key part of why many find it effective. Recurring complaints are that blocks can interfere with legitimate app use, feed-specific blocking is limited or desired, and some motivational quotes feel off-putting.

Pros

Many users say it substantially reduces mindless scrolling and social media use, improving productivity and helping with phone or gaming habits.
The hold-to-unlock delay and prompts encourage users to pause and reconsider whether they really want to open an app.
Users appreciate that the blocking can be made demanding, which some say makes it especially effective.

Cons

Blocking can interrupt intentional use, such as watching videos, listening to music, or reading comments.
Some users want more targeted feed or short-video blocking, rather than blocking access to an app more broadly.
Some users find the motivational quotes cringey or overly macho.

This app really helped me reading the Bible more but I gotta say the reason I didn't give this 5 is because sometimes it blocks me at the worst possible times. Cool app tho, imma continue using it even though it helped me go on my Bible app by myself now.
